The Southwest Virginia Tea Party is presently working on an intense investigation of the candidates in the VA 9th congressional race. There are three candidates running in the VA 9th, Morgan Griffith (R), Jeremiah Heaton (I) and Rick Boucher (D). We met with the Griffith campaign last evening for three hours. We have a lot of work to do yet and will report our findings to the federation upon completion.

Tea Part actions of late in VA and across the country have been rather embarassing. I had high hopes and was (operative word is was) an ardent supporter but now am coming to believe that its is just another way to raise money for the same old folks (regardless of which side of the asile they are on) and keep this country from moving forward.

The US constituition was written by men with vested economic interests in moving this country forward through progressivness, intelluct (with force only as a last resort) and yes taxes and rules for all the colonies. Our growt came through brute force and vision as well as the strength to move us forward. Actions of late are about yesterday and driven by fear which conradicts all the forefathers worked for and wanted.

Try to keep your independence from either party (dems or republicans) to maintain your moral and ethical objectives otherwise you become another part of the problem. Instead of fighting the now come up with ideas and progressive candidates that make us great, but that requires hard work and iy seems easier to complain and contribute the roll up your shirt sleeves.

And one last comment leave the constuitution (US and VA) for the courts, exercise your right to vote and dont give any money to any candidate; elect common folks to the podium and then you see a change.

Good luck.

I noticed that a lot of people complain to the fact that there is no te party in their neighborhoods or county. What is all this people waitng for? they can be if they really wanted, the "spark" to iniciate the te party in their places. But why to worry? I am used to people in this country that only complain but actually they never do anything to correct what they are complaining about? Am I wrong?

I'm interested in promoting the Virginia and the original U.S. Constitution as a starting point and helping legislators understand what their oath is.
