Given the Federation's stated focus on Fiscal responsibility, free markets, individual rights, accountability in education, and the Constitutional balance of power between state and federal government. I would like to suggest that issues in addition to Obamacare be addressed.
I for one would like to see the Federation poll members and take publicized positions on
TERM LIMITS and CAMPAIGN FINANCING.
These issues more than any others create the misrepresentative Congress we all suffer with.

The news following the Restore Honor rally is rife with commentary regarding the event coinciding with the famous Martin Luther King, Jr's. speech. As I have thought about the numerous accusations of racism levied at the Tea Party during the past many months, it occured to me that we should consider ways to counter these claims.
My suggestion is that a committee be formed with the aim of reaching out to minorities in ways that will result in positive press and growth of minority Tea Party members.
Specifically, I would suggest organizing a "Content of Character Committee". The committee should be made up of an equal number of whites and blacks. The purpose of this committee would be to identify both blacks and whites who through their words and actions are demonstrating a lack of character. Some of the behaviours that I think would qualify a person for inclusion on a "Character Watch List" (probably a better label could be found)would be:
- Hate speech (false or scandalous speech directed at specific individuals)
- Abuse of citizen's and human rights (e.g. blocking voters at polling places)
- Abuse of the system (I would include behaviors that unjustifiably drain Federal funds thereby reducing monies available for those truly in need)
The goal of this idea would be to encourage the joining of citizens in an effort consistent with Martin Luther King Jr.'s timeless rule. . ."(people) should not be judged by the color of their skin; but by the content of their character".
Obviously this idea is just the kernel of an idea with plenty of room to be improved/modified.

"Allow adult children living at home to remain on parents’ health insurance policies beyond age cutoffs if extra premium is paid by family member. "

Why is this needed? Adults can purchase health insurance. What does it matter where they live or with whom?

I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE 2010 DISCUSSIONS SO MY COMMENTS ON TWO OF THE ITEMS ABOVE MAY BE UNTIMELY. HOWEVER, I DO WANT TO MAKE SOME COMMENTS IN REGARD TO WHAT I READ ABOVE.
Insurance Panels (HB 11)- Require Insurance company panels which approve or deny payment for tests, treatment or therapy to be comprised of practicing physicians in areas of treatment, instead of cost-cutting accountants. THIS IS A CAPITULATION TO OBAMACARE. I THOUGHT WE ARE TRYING TO NULLIFY THIS ABOMINATION! IF WE COULDN'T KILL THE BILL, WHAT MAKES US THINK WE CAN EFFECT THE ABOVE REQUIREMENT? WE SHOULD CONTINUE OUR EFFORT TO NULLIFY, WORK WITH OTHER STATES WHO WANT TO NULLIFY AND PROCEED TO DRAFT LEGISLATION THAT WILL OPEN COMPETITION WITHIN VIRGINIA HEALTH INSURERS (Free Markets. WE SHOULD ALSO WORK ON GETTING OUR STATE REPS IN CONGRESS TO DRAFT AND SUPPORT/SHEPHERD PASSAGE OF THE MUCH PUBLICIZED '28TH AMENDMENT'! THIS "comprised of practicing physicians in areas of treatment, instead of cost-cutting accountants" SHOULD ONLY BE CONSIDERED IF WE ARE UNSUCCESSFUL WITH NULLIFICATON OR A.G. CUCCINELLI'S LAWSUIT.

End Age Cut Offs for Insurance Coverage (HB 12)- Allow adult children living at home to remain on parents’ health insurance policies beyond age cutoffs if extra premium is paid by family member. MY COMMENT ON THIS IS THE SAME AS THE ONE I ENTERED ABOVE.

WE MUST PUSH VA AND ANY/ALL OTHER STATES TO CHALLENGE THESE HATEFUL SOCIALIST ON 10TH AMENDMENT BASIS. ONCE CONSERVATIVES HAVE TAKEN OVER BOTH HOUSES (VA AND FED), WE MUST FIND A WAY OR DRAFT LEGISLATION
THAT WILL REPEAL/REVERSE ALL LAWS PASSED THAT ARE NOT CONSTITUTIONAL.

Ron,
Agree 110% with the survey approach. There must also be a"statement of commitment" to their answers in the survey if elected. I did formulate a draft survey last summer. I would like to revisit it and update it before submitting. What would be the best way of submitting it for consideration?

We must have something in order to be able to come to an informed decision for supporting a candidate. Can you clarify the last statement "and a Fairfax seat is available and we want to be involved". What Fairfax seat is available?

Let's come up with a realistic survey that will determine
how future candidates will vote. Are they Conservative?
Moderate? Rhino, Progressive. We need this now as state
seats are available, and need to be filled. We need to
help determine the right outcome for VA. If you have a survey please send it to me and a Fairfax seat is available
and we want to be involved.
